Meyer Lemon

Shallow roots dry fast in hot season. Daily watering essential. Monitor for tristeza virus.
A small, bushy evergreen tree with dark, shiny leaves and fragrant white flowers. Its rounded fruit has a smooth, deep golden-yellow skin and sweeter, less acidic flesh than standard lemons. With its floral undertones and thin, edible skin, it is excellent sliced whole into salads, made into marmalade, or roasted with poultry.
Cultivation
Sunlight
Partial Shade (4-6 hours). Thrives on east-facing balconies. More shade-tolerant than Eureka.
Watering
Water daily in hot season—shallow roots dry out fast. Ensure flawless drainage to prevent root suffocation.
Soil Mix
High-porosity mix: standard soil + 30% coconut coir + 20% perlite.

Challenges
Thrips cause rind scarring. Tristeza Virus is fatal and incurable.
Apply Spinosad for thrips. Source only virus-indexed nursery stock.
